Search Operators

" " + - AND OR NOT ()

The more specific a search is, the more effective it will be. The search engine supports several advanced Boolean operators for more accurate searching. Be sure to use ALL CAPS as shown.

Searches will return a list of pages, in order of relevance. After opening a page, using Ctrl+F to find the location of a term on a particular page may sometimes be helpful.

" "

Using quotation marks finds those exact words, sequentially.

+  -

The "+" sign immediately before a word (no space) designates that it must be returned in the results. Conversely, a  "-" sign immediately before a word (no space) designates that it must NOT be returned in the results.

AND

Results must contain all words joined by "AND."

OR

Results must contain at least one of the words joined by "OR."

NOT

No result will be returned that contain a words following "NOT."

()

Results can be refined by using parentheses to group elements of Boolean queries together.
